BREAKING NEWS: Browns Sign Former Baltimore Ravens Quarterback to a one-year deal

On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns signed Tyler Huntley, a former Baltimore Ravens quarterback, to a one-year agreement. Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com was the first to announce the latest addition.

Huntley has spent his whole four-year career in Baltimore as a backup from Utah. He has participated in 20 games since joining the league in 2020.

In those 20 outings, he had eight touchdown passes and seven interceptions while throwing for 1,957 yards. Huntley’s most productive season came in 2021, when he appeared in seven games, starting four, and threw for 1,081 yards and three touchdowns.

Former Utah Quarterback Tyler Huntley Continues To Shine

Huntley has made two starts versus the Browns in his career, nearly a year apart. In 2021, Huntley led the Ravens into Cleveland, where the Browns won 24-22 thanks to a Myles Garrett strip-sack score against Huntley.

370 days later, he led the Ravens into Cleveland for another Saturday night game under the lights at Browns Stadium. That game was ugly and snowy, but the Browns pulled off another victory over Huntley.
As things stand, the Browns will begin spring practices with a quarterback room that includes Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and now Huntley. Over the years, Andrew Berry has stressed constructing a quarterback room with many arms and promoting competition.

Watson and Winston are nearly certain to be on the 53-man roster come September. In recent years, Berry has been known to trade an arm before the start of the regular season. It remains to be seen if he’ll be as forceful this summer.

In any case, Huntley is a solid addition to the Browns’ quarterback depth chart.
