In the 2024 offseason, the New Orleans Saints lost their first key player to free agency.
Cornerback Isaac Yiadom is signing a contract with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Jeremy Fowler.
Following Marshon Lattimore’s injury last season, Yiadom was a vital member of the Saints secondary. Throughout his tenure as a player for New Orleans, Yiadom totaled fourteen pass breaks.
Even though he is only 28 years old, the Saints would have greatly benefited from having him on the team this season.
Yiadom allowed a 48.9% completion percentage (12th in the NFL) in eight starts in 2023 while only receiving two penalties.
Additionally, the veteran added value to special teams. He was the fifth player on the team with 267 ST snaps.
He had a breakout season overall, and the Saints need to move him up the depth chart at cornerback. The free agency pool still has some interesting alternatives, and the front staff will be keeping an eye on the NFL Draft to add quality to the secondary.
