Here in free agency, H-Town is raging!
It was once believed that the Cincinnati Bengals would cut running back Joe Mixon and send him to free agency, but it doesn’t seem like that will be the case at all.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and NFL.com, the Houston Texans acquired Mixon in a trade with the Bengals, giving up an unidentified draft selection in the process.
Cincinnati announced on Monday that they would be releasing Mixon following their acquisition of veteran running back Zack Moss.
But in their pursuit of a running back, the Texans were able to select Mixon before he became a free agent. Devin Singletary, their back from the previous season, spent the 2023 season with Houston before agreeing to a three-year deal with the New York Giants on Monday.
Is it safe to claim that the Houston Texans are enjoying the best offseason at this point, with all of the major dominoes falling into place and the smoke clearing up as a result? Have they secured it yet?
Based on their actions, it appears that they did.Oh my god, in addition to adding Mixon via free agency, they also signed linebacker Danielle Hunter, cornerback Jeff Okudah, and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. Moreover, they were able to hold onto tight end Dalton Schultz.
