The Dallas Cowboys are signing former New York Jets defensive end Carl Lawson, who was initially a major addition to the Jets in 2021. However, he fell short of expectations and only played 23 games in three seasons. Lawson missed the 2021 season due to an Achilles tendon injury, but returned for 2022 and finished with seven sacks. In 2023, he missed most of the preseason due to a back injury and lost his starting job to Jermaine Johnson. Lawson was a solid pass rusher but struggled to stay on the field.
