Dan Campbell Explain why He Is Leaving Detriot Loins For Cowboys
In 2023, cornerback Emmanuel Moseley made just two plays before an injury ended his season. This was his first season with the Detroit Lions. However, the seasoned defensive back will get another opportunity to suit up for the Lions.
The Lions re-signed Moseley on March 5 to a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter posted on X (previously Twitter): “Moseley injured his ACL during his first game for Detroit in Week 5 vs. the Carolina Panthers, one year after he had torn his other ACL.” “However, the Lions are returning him.”Moseley’s resigning comes as a bit of a surprise. Due to two ACL tears, Moseley has only appeared in six games over the last two seasons, as Schefter reported.
However, the Lions were prepared to give Moseley another try since they needed depth at cornerback. The transaction’s financial specifics remained a secret.
Some Lions supporters expressed their satisfaction with Moseley’s signing, stating that it’s great the veteran cornerback is getting another chance in Detroit. Nonetheless, several supporters were a little perplexed by the choice to re-sign Moseley.CB Emmanuel Moseley is back with the Lions.
In Week 5 of the 2022 season, Moseley tore his left ACL, and NFL commentators thought he was a budding talent. In a terrible twist of events, Moseley tore his ACL in his right knee in 2023’s Week 5 matchup with the Carolina Panthers, the same team.
However, the Lions signed Moseley in the offseason with the expectation that he would be able to rehabilitate to play a major role opposite fellow 2023 free agent Cameron Sutton. However, during training camp, Moseley experienced a setback in his rehabilitation and returned to injured reserve right away.
The Lions may not have thought of Moseley as a contender to start alongside Sutton this offseason. However, the deal’s financial aspects probably outweigh the chance that Moseley will recover and reach his pre-injury level of performance.
During the 2021 season, Moseley had 42 combined tackles, 11 pass defences, and 1 interception for the San Francisco 49ers. In 44 games for the 49ers from 2019 to 22, he recorded 33 pass defences and 4 interceptions.
