Game 2 saw the Boston Celtics fall to the Miami Heat 111-101. They are now level in their first-round playoff series, 1-1.
Stephen A. Smith expressed surprise at Miami’s victory at TD Garden, as seen in this First Take photo.
It’s a thing. I was very taken aback. I was completely mistaken. Last night, I not only anticipated that the Boston Celtics would triumph, but that they would completely dominate them.
Smith surmised that the Heat are a good squad even though his forecast was off.
“We consider the culture of heat. Even if it’s a cliché, we can’t overlook the fact that Erik Spoelstra is 10-3 in Game 2s following a Game 1 loss. You then turn to face Bam Adebayo.
Regarding Boston’s deficiencies in Game 2, Smith brought up Kristap Porzingis’ six-point showing.
“Let me just say one thing. Kristaps Porzingis: How in the world can you shoot 1-for-9 at 7 feet 3 inches tall? It was an extremely underwhelming performance.
Smith also shared his opinions about Joe Mazzulla, the head coach.
“I believe this squad would have won the championship last year if Ime Udoka had been coaching them. Although [Joe] Mazzulla is good, there are moments when I find myself wondering about the way these guys play.
