The lineman promised to move to Lexington with his elder brothers, Josh and Justin.
After his most recent trip to Lexington, 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle Tucker Kattus of Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier announced his commitment to the Wildcats on March 27. The younger brother of tight end Josh Kattus and linebacker Justin Kattus of Kentucky, Kattus gave some insight into when he decided to pursue his athletic career at Kentucky.
“The red carpet was out when I went down there for spring practice. They conveyed to me their priority. I had numerous conversations with coaches Eric Wolford (offensive line), Mark Stoops (of football), Vince Marrow (of tight ends), and a few other coaches, and I always felt like a top priority. It’s great that my brothers are down there as well. I also adore Coach Wolford. When he returned to Alabama, he began recruiting me. It all kind of came together, in my opinion. I wasn’t really sure on Sunday when I was returning, but I was certain on Monday that I wanted to commit there,” Kattus told CatsPause.com.
Wolford had a significant influence on his choice. During spring practice, the linemen had the chance to observe him working with his players.
