Defense lineman Teair Tart has signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. This past season, he was a member of the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans.
Tart, a native of Philadelphia, committed to FIU after playing one season in the JUCO ranks. During his two seasons of play, he recorded 51 total tackles, 23 solo, 28 assisted, and 5.5 sacks.
With 32 total tackles, 15 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 10.5 tackles for loss in 2019, the defensive tackle had his greatest collegiate season ttexans o date. Due to Tart’s impressive two seasons at FIU, the Tennessee Titans selected him as an undrafted free agent.
Tart played for the Tennessee Titans for his first four and a half seasons. He was cut by the Titans midway through his fourth season, and the Houston Texans, an AFC South rival, claimed him.
Tart’s 2023 season was successful overall with eight tackles for loss and 24 total tackles. Under head coach DeMeco Ryans, he had three total tackles, two solo tackles, and one zero tackles for loss.
The Dolphins needed to strengthen their defensive line after losing Christian Wilkins and Raekwon Davis. Tart, who is 6’2″ and 304 pounds, has four seasons of experience under his belt in addition to playing in Miami’s climate.
