Alabama’s quarterback room is among the best in football.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer of the Crimson Tide addressed media on Thursday following the opening scrimmage of spring practice at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The quarterbacks were the main attraction at Alabama’s seventh practice. According to DeBoer, all four players were excellent, and nobody gave the ball away. Although the offensive line of the Tide still has to work on improving pass blocking, the quarterbacks were able to break plays fast and deliver the ball to the receivers. During an 85-90 play scrimmage, DeBoer reported seeing many quarterback touchdowns. Each signal caller made plays and operated within the system, he informed the reporters.
According to DeBoer, Jalen Milroe, a redshirt junior, has been “super consistent.”
Milroe has performed admirably at simply playing the game, according to DeBoer. Now that we have enough opportunities for him to use his dual skill set of running and throwing, you can see how the play-calling takes into account what he can offer to the game. He is difficult to deal with. He moves quite quickly. With the passing game in particular, he is growing increasingly at ease with the scheme. He has the ability to make plays with his feet, and he has done so when it has been appropriate. Even merely playing the game is becoming more comfortable for him. When necessary, he converts and finds methods to shift the chains. I’m rather pleased with how far he has progressed.
According to DeBoer, the quarterbacks performed admirably overall.
Regarding Alabama’s quarterback room, he stated, “They really made some throws.”
They remained with the plays, examined the safety precautions, and generally felt at ease. They didn’t make an excessive effort. They didn’t give the ball up a single time, which is, in my opinion, incredibly encouraging. They placed the ball where the offensive player could compete for it when they had the opportunity to make throws. They also completed some excellent touchdown throws in there.
The Crimson Tide can have a lot of fun with DeBoer and Nick Sheridan’s offense.
Although Milroe is still serving as QB1, it appears that the entire room is unsafe.
