Tommy Edman Provides Update on Injury, Timeline to Play for Dodgers
Utility player Tommy Edman was acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers as part of a three-team transaction that also included Michael Kopech, Oliver Gonzalez, and the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.
Edman was sidelined during spring training due to wrist pain following offseason wrist surgery, and he hasn’t played yet this season. The 29-year-old has been plagued by an ankle injury this season and was placed on the 60-day injured list early in the season.
Edman’s status to play in Major League Baseball will be reevaluated by the Dodgers in the coming days. At the time of the trade, he was with the Double-A affiliate of the Cardinals on a minor league rehab assignment.

The 2019 MLB rookie, a former sixth-round selection in 2016, has experience playing all over the field, including center field, shortstop, second base, and third base. Having won a Fielding Bible award in 2022 and a Gold Glove trophy in 2021, he is a formidable defender.
