Orioles Swap 3 Prospects for $40-Million Starter in ‘Splash’ Trade.
The MLB trade deadline is July 30. The Baltimore Orioles are not waiting for that day. To strengthen their pitching staff, they have made two trades, including one for Zach Eflin, a starting righty.

Having tossed 110 innings in 2024, the 30-year-old is in the second season of a three-year contract for $40 million. Eflin has a 4.09 ERA, 87 strikeouts, and has given up 14 home runs.
