Kevin Harvick understands that when Chase Elliott, the most well-liked driver in the sport, wins races, NASCAR as a whole gains.
In the most recent installment of Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, the driver discussed the significance of Elliott finding Victory Lane at Texas last weekend and how the No. 9’s success could boost NASCAR’s overall profile.
It was what helped him win the race. He raced with more aggression than I have ever seen him, especially in the past few years. The No. 9’s level of aggression toward the finish of the race was praised by Harvick as “definitely as aggressive as I’ve seen him be over the last couple of years.” “On the restarts, he gained a significant number of spots.” He positioned himself. Since they were the two that I felt were the most aggressive on restarts and the ones that stayed up front the most over the day, that’s basically what I saw in Chase and Ross Chastain.
“Chase Elliott has won big.” Great victory for our sport. I am extremely delighted for Chase. To be successful, Chase Elliott is necessary for all of us.
Harvick went on, reflecting for a while on Elliott’s hardships during the previous year and the reasons that his triumphant return to Victory Lane was such a memorable occasion in Texas.
Harvick continued, “I would assume that he probably weighs on it a little bit, and I think that pressure he feels sometimes.” Over the past few years, he has dealt with a lot of issues, including his injury, his suspension, and the purchase of a new car. Being forced to respond to inquiries about what it is and his candid admission that “this car has presented some new challenges to me,” However, the thing I adore most about this specific scenario is that there isn’t a new crew chief. No changes were made to the team. The message was simply, “Hey, let’s work through this and figure out what it takes to get you through this.” I believe that everyone is aware of Chase Elliott’s quick race car driving skills. This scenario, in my opinion, demonstrates just how challenging it is to operate this particular car. He can obviously drive this automobile as well. He can accomplish his goals and triumph in this vehicle. However, there is a psychological aspect to this activity that not everyone recognizes or examines.
“Being successful in this sport brings with it a circle of life. You and your team must be on the same page if you hope to achieve the highest level of success in anything you undertake. Your personal life and your belongings combined. Your belongings as well as your money. You need to have everything in order, regardless of what it is. You witnessed this with Chase when you saw it. I believe that at the time when everything was out of balance, you were pursuing whatever issue you believed to be the present one.
Whatever you believe the next issue to be,. You’re always trying to figure out, “Okay, what do I have to do here,” and I believe that Chase has been experiencing an imbalance over the past few years due to all the various issues he’s had to deal with outside of racing. Thus, perhaps, this helps those guys on their future route.
Unfortunately, Chase Elliott might eventually have his head blasted off. If Kevin Harvick is right about this situation, No. 9 could have a lot more coming after his victory over the weekend.
