BREAKING NEWS: the Orleans Saints has consider another veteran wide receiver…….

Right now, the New Orleans Saints’ cap space is just over $8 million. That’s not much, but it might be sufficient to bring in another offensive weapon before or after the 2024 NFL Draft.

Boyd, who stands 6’2 and weighs 205 pounds, is the kind of receiver the Saints need to add to their roster. In general, they need bodies, but it would be very sensible to provide a larger target to Rashid Shaheed and anhris cOlave.

Boyd, who is only 29 years old, meets that requirement.

Although Cedrick Wilson III was signed by the Saints earlier in free agency, it is still unclear how he will affect the offence. He fits the plan, but had periods of difficulty when playing for the Miami dolphins lately.

The Saints passing game would be significantly improved if Wilson or Boyd could produce at the WR3 level. Not to add, the Saints presently have just one pick in the second round of the draft. Unless they select a wide out in the first 45 picks, it’s difficult to imagine them obtaining an immediate impact wideout.

Boyd played for Cincinnati for eight years, accumulating 6,000 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns on 513 receptions.

He was their WR2 or WR3 behind some of the NFL’s best receivers for a large portion of that time.

Boyd is a player whose market has been quiet overall. The Saints should be tempted to give him a serious look at some point during free agency by his size and athleticism.
