SHOCKING NEWS: Dan Quinn Reveals Shocking Intriguing Decision About His Future with Commanders

The NFL owners have passed a number of policies that will impact the 2017 season and beyond while convening for their annual league meetings in Orlando, Florida. Yesterday, General Manager of the Washington Commanders Adam Peters fielded questions from the media; today it was HC Dan Quinn’s time. Though his speech was brief, it covered a few points. Although he didn’t have much to say about the draft today, he did speak with Tom Pelissero about it over the weekend. Quinn did restate that there is still no decision on the number-two pick.
Washington Commanders Introduce Dan Quinn As New Head Coach During Press Conference

Quinn remarked, “I think it would be reasonable to assume we’d be taking a quarterback.” “I think it would be preferable for (general manager) Adam (Peters) to disclose where it will be taking place. We’ve had a terrific trip out meeting some guys, and we’ll do that some more in the coming weeks. I’ve enjoyed going through that process with Adam, but there will be a lot of conversation as the following weeks go by. It’s been really amazing going through that process because he is an incredible master at this position, what it looks like, and where to go.

Quinn did discuss his intention to work with the Commanders on joint practices during his debut season. Even if he wasn’t always interested in doing this, he wants to make preparations once the preseason schedule is out. Additionally, he discussed the importance of starting a team with the fundamentals, saying, “You’re going to get your ass kicked if you’re not a good tackling team.”

The following two lines from Quinn discuss Bobby Wagner and Jeremy Chinn, two free agent acquisitions. The future Hall of Famer, Wagner, is the best tackler the coach has ever worked with, and his experience will benefit the defense. Because of his skill as a blitzer, Chinn will assist them in playing more man coverage and blitzing in DC Joe Whitt Jr.’s defense.
