It appeared that Josh Reynolds would go in free agency, but the Lions are keeping the option open to re-sign him.
Josh Reynolds is expected to leave the Detroit Lions in free agency for reasons unrelated to his two important drops in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers or perceptions of his attitude to the hard game.
When it comes down to it, another team may be able to offer Reynolds a larger role next season, as well as more money on a multi-year contract. During the third week of free agency, he has reportedly visited the Baltimore Ravens. Reynolds’ market was unlikely to be large, but it was reasonable to expect more attention.
Reynolds has been a quality Lions player for the past two and a half seasons. Head coach Dan Campbell has given him numerous nicknames, and he played through a severe injury for a period of time, indicating a cultural fit. In last year’s regular season finale, efforts were made to exceed 600 yards for the season and earn a $250,000 contract bonus.
