While many people throughout the country feel that damaged goods quarterback Kirk Cousins will lead the Dixie Chicks back to the playoffs, a major member of the #NFLMedia believes that the Bucs may still be the NFC South’s champions.
Adam Schein, a popular sports radio and television personality, wrote for NFL.com about his nine finest NFL deals this offseason.
Schein mentioned how Bucs general manager Jason Licht, who loves AC/DC, was able to maintain all of his valuable free agents.
I interviewed Lavonte David on my SiriusXM radio show before the start of free agency, and the longtime Bucs player laid it all out for me.Per the linebacker:
* Mike Evans needed to stay in Tampa since the veteran wideout is still performing like a star (and potential Hall of Famer).
* The Buccaneers couldn’t meddle with quarterback Baker Mayfield, whose outstanding leadership and play inspired the entire stadium during last year’s playoff run.
* At the age of 25, Antoine Winfield Jr., one of the top safeties in the game, could not enter the free agent market.
*As about David himself? The Bucs stalwart aspired to stay in Tampa, praising the area, the squad, and the prospect of playing for a single franchise his entire career.
Licht executed each and every one of these maneuvers.
Is this the conclusion of Licht’s offseason moves? Of course not. And it should not be.
Certain positions will undoubtedly be addressed in the draft. For Joe, there is still a big vacuum on the roster, and no reasonable person could argue that the Bucs are any better at this point in the calendar year than they were when they left Ford Field last January.
