BREAKING NEWS: According to Browns Insider Kevin Stefanski contract has been Extended

Both Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski are nearing the end of their original contracts with the Cleveland Browns.

After winning his second NFL Coach of the Year Award in 2023, there was talk that Stefanski might sign a fast extension.

Berry’s salary cap management and free agency track record are impressive, despite his dismal draft record.

However, there haven’t been many reports or news stories on Berry and Stefanski’s imprisonment after 2024.

During their Orange and Brown Podcast, Browns insiders Mary Kay Cabot and Dan Labbe discussed the matter.
Cabot’s explanation is as straightforward as saying, “They’ve been busy!”

To explain the delay, the beat reporter for Cleveland.com cites a long list of post-season commitments and duties.

However, she raises little doubt about the Browns’ subsequent decision to extend both Berry and Stefanski.
Cabot speculates, “Maybe they’ll do something at the NFL Annual Meeting, maybe when they get home from that, or maybe later today.” “But those two guys are going to get their extensions, one way or another.”

Berry and Stefanski are in their fifth season and already seem to be exceeding the odds.

In 2020, front office expert Paul DePodesta famously stressed to owner Jimmy Haslam the importance of continuity.

This came after Cleveland fired five head coaches and four general managers in the course of eight seasons.

Dead cap expenditures in several seasons paled in comparison to what Haslam gave out to prior general managers and head coaches.
The last head coach to lead Cleveland through five seasons was Bill Belichick (1991–1955).

The only two players to begin their fourth season since the Browns’ 1999 NFL comeback were Butch Davis and Romeo Crennel.
