The transition in Alabama’s leadership is still the greatest story in college football this year. Days after leading the Washington Huskies into the national championship game, Nick Saban announced his retirement, and Kalen DeBoer took over quickly. Along the way, there will be more changes: new players, new coaching staff at Alabama with fresh methods and lingo, and some Crimson Tide players leaving.

“You must be adaptable at all times. People will arrive and depart. All you have to do is adjust to the individuals surrounding you—the guys who are willing to work. I hope the best for the guys that went. However, the men who arrived and the men who stayed are here to stay and are receptive to anything.
