AGENCY RANKING: Best free agent wide receivers Chicago Bears set to sign

Signing a wide receiver is necessary for the Chicago Bears. The squad was already lacking in that area, so even if they draft one, players like Equanimeous St. Brown and Darnell Mooney are likely to enter free agency.

This summer, who wide receivers should the Chicago Bears target in NFL free agency?
The impractical choice

Calvin Robinson

It is difficult to imagine Calvin Ridley being included, even though he would be a great addition. First of all, he would need to pay D.J. Moore a salary that is competitive with his, which is a lot of money to spend on two receivers who aren’t exceptional players.

Beyond that, Ridley will probably want to go with a team where he is the top choice—not the number one or second—instead of the number one.

Davis Samuel

These guys are capable of making big plays and moving down the field. Placing them across from D.J. Moore allows him to work yards after the catch underneath. Samuel’s situation would involve the reunion of two former players for the Carolina Panthers. He still raises the biggest concerns about injuries.

After experiencing his worst-ever season, Brown might need to start over with a different team before looking for a better market the following year. Of the three, Davis is probably the safest, but he might also be the most productive because he might not have the same ceiling as the other two.

Boyd Tyler
Michael J. Osborn, Thomas

It appears that Darnell Mooney is leaving the Chicago Bears. Compared to previous year, Tyler Boyd and Michael Thomas would have an entirely different style in that region. Both of them may be dependable for a rookie, but they are more possession players. Naturally, Thomas’s injuries have raised a lot of questions. If Osborn were Mooney in a different setting, that would be comparable.

Josh Miller
Mack Hollins
A blocking receiver capable of doing the grunt work is what the Chicago Bears need. He is able to make the difficult catches and run the routes that others would prefer not to. All four of the possibilities can fill the same role that St. Brown did, but unlike St. Brown, all four of them will occasionally generate results. Even if they sign one of the top seven first, they ought to sign at least one of these four.

Donovan Jones-Peoples
Under the correct circumstances and system, these guys have promise. They are game-changers in occasional runs of three games. The Chicago Bears should only sign these players in the event that they miss the top seven picks due to their inconsistency.
