Texans Re-Sign Star TE Dalton Schultz To A Three Year $36 Million Deal

In the first round of free agency, the Houston Texans re-signed tight end Dalton Schultz.

The organization agreed to a $36 million, three-year contract because they didn’t want Schultz to go unsigned and they had plenty of cap room available.
Schultz proved his worth and earned this new contract with the Texans last season, where he enjoyed a breakout season.

With 59 receptions for 635 yards and five touchdowns, he demonstrated his value as a dependable target for C.J. Stroud, the rookie quarterback.

A $23.5 million fully guaranteed signing bonus is part of Schultz’s contract. The Texans have prevented one of the best tight ends available from entering the market by signing one of the top free agents.
In terms of catches, touchdowns, and receiving yards, Schultz is among the most productive tight ends in the league because of his steady play throughout the previous four seasons.

With this deal, Schultz’s average annual compensation rises to $11, making him the 11th highest-paid tight end in the NFL.

This summer, the Texans made it a priority to keep their own free agents, and they succeeded in doing so with Schultz.

Currently with the Houston Texans, Dalton Schultz is an NFL tight end. For the entirety of his career, he has been a dependable pass receiver for the Cowboys and the Texans.
Following his selection by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Schultz played with the team for five seasons until relocating to Houston in 2023.

With the Texans, he inked a one-year contract that will pay him $6.25 million in 2023. $3,375,00 is the dead cap value and cap hit of his deal.
Schultz, who is only 27 years old, has a lot of potential for success in the future and could sign a contract that pays much more.

With the Texans, he currently has a fully guaranteed contract that includes automatic void years and an active bonus every game.
