JUST IN: The Damn Fans Buzz are Ivan Taylor in and Out Field altitude

Ivan Taylor, a Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange safety, is one of the top players in the Notre Dame 2025 class. Taylor obviously has tremendous footage, but what distinguishes him is that he is also a standout young man off the pitch. Taylor is a physical guy who isn’t afraid to make an impact in the run game and spice things up. There is a switch that activates the moment he stops on the field. According to his parents, Ike and Danielle Taylor, Ivan’s uniqueness stems from this equilibrium. The recruiting process can be frantic, but he has a strong support system to help him enjoy it.
“I think it’s a hectic process, but he’s been handling it very well, and I think it’s due in part to his groundedness,” Danielle Taylor told Irish Breakdown. “He has a strong faith, and growing up with Ike as a mentor and the Pittsburgh Steelers helped him get through the process. “Also, huge credit to the Notre Dame coaches,” she added. “The recruiting staff made Ivan feel very comfortable, which made things a lot better.”
Ike contributed to the discourse about the support system. Compliments were given to both Ivan and his mother, whom he described as the rock of their family. “You mentioned both parents being on the show, which is exactly what we do,” Mr. Taylor added. “We’ve always said that teamwork makes the dream work. I mean, he’s a remarkable child. We always talk about him, about our son, maybe every day. “We talk about how blessed we are as parents to have him, and how special she is as a mom,” he continued. “Just supporting the family and carrying herself like a woman is one. I have to give his mother more credit.” Growing up, Ike spent considerable time teaching his kid. He realized Ivan was unique from a young age. It was plain to see. “He’s just different, man,” he explained. “When I realized he was unusual, he got whacked on the sideline. He began playing running back when he was eight years old. I told Ivan that someone would knock the wind out of him once, but he just had to suck it up, breathe deeply, and get back in the game. He was in and out of the game, but he came back in after four or five plays and immediately took off. “It was a year later, I took a step back and realized how good he really was,” he said. “We had youngsters on the team who weren’t from privileged backgrounds. They did not have the advantage of having an NFL father. They did not have access to some of the top trainers. They frequently carry a chip on their shoulder because football is their ticket out. Thus, their mentalities may differ. But Ivan’s mentality was equally as tough as theirs. They admire Ivan not only as a person, but also as a teammate. When it became clear how good Ivan was, his father summoned two former teammates to testify that he was not biased. Troy Polumalu, a former Steelers great, was among those teammates. They went to a game and confirmed what Ike suspected: Ivan was different. “That dude is a dog,” Taylor explained. “He’s an excellent football player. You aren’t going to out-physical him. You won’t be able to get away with talking trash to him or taking him off his game. You won’t be able to accomplish those stuff. Ivan’s thinking distinguishes him. Notre Dame is fortunate not just to have Ivan Taylor as a football player, but also as an individual. The Florida superstar is a fantastic complement to the Irish program. Getting a big-time playmaker like him is invaluable, especially so early in the process.
